COURSE REPORT: Competing against eight teams ranked in the latest USTFCCCA Top 30 National Poll, the Cal State San Marcos men's cross country team recorded a 21st-place finish with 509 points at the Lewis Crossover on Saturday morning in Romeoville, Illinois. No. 1 Colorado School of Mines won the team title with 34 points and No. 5 Colorado Christian captured runner-up honors with 77 points.
FINISH LINE
- For the third race this season, Sankalp Shastri was CSUSM's top runner, finishing in 27th place out of 337 runners with a time of 24:40.9.
- Renton McGregor was the next Cougar across the line in a time of 25:35.1 for 124th.
- Trevor Boaz (25;41.3) and Diego Lopez (25:43.0) took 135th and 137th place, respectively.
- Competing in his first race of 2023, Nick Melanese finished in 142nd place (25:46.9) with Mark De Haro (183rd, 26:46.9) and Ziggy Nacco (224th, 26:37.8).
