Henderson's Buzzer Beater Pushes CSUSM Past LA, 77-75
LOS ANGELES, Calif. – A 3-pointer at the buzzer by Charlie Henderson handed the Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team (10-15, 9-10 CCAA) a 77-75 victory over RV Cal State LA (18-7, 13-6 CCAA) on Saturday afternoon at University Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM and LA stayed within four points of each other in the first 13 minutes of the contest until a driving fast-break layup by Collins put CSUSM up 27-21 with 6:07 to go in the half.
- The Cougars and Golden Eagles were tied at 32-all after 20 minutes as Collins led all scorers with 14 points.
- LA had the hotter hand in the first half as it shot 40.6% (13-of-32) from the field while CSUSM came in at 35.7% (10-of-28).
- The Golden Eagles took their largest lead of the game at 46-40 as Escobar drained a 3-pointer with 14:02 to play.
- The Cougars retook the lead at 49-48 as Collins made a fast-break layup with 11:16 to go.
- With 6:24 to play, CSUSM took its largest lead of the game at 67-57 on a Collins jumper.
- LA erased CSUSM's lead with an 11-0 run to go up 68-67 with 3:50 remaining.
- With the Cougars up 74-71 after a Henderson 3-pointer with 1:57 to go, the Golden Eagles' Eche Okeke made two free throws before a CSUSM turnover resulted in a jumper by Lazo to give LA a 75-74 lead with 1:02 left.
- Still down by one, Henderson got the feed off a missed shot and drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer to secure the win for CSUSM.
- The Cougars shot 58.1% (18-of-31) in the second half while the Golden Eagles came in at 42.9% (15-of-35).
- CSUSM still came out on top despite making 12 second-half turnovers to LA's two.
FAST BREAKS
- CSUSM ended the game shooting 47.5% (28-of-59) from the field while LA finished at 41.8% (28-of-67).
- The Cougars drained 11 3-pointers on 23 attempts (47.8%).
- CSUSM won the battle of the boards at 42-33 and was one shy of its season high.
- LA had the advantage in assists (21-20), steals (13-6) and turnovers (20-8).
- The game featured 16 lead changes and nine ties.
- CSUSM led for 24:08 while LA had the lead for 8:44.
- Collins earned his fourth double-double with his third 30-plus point performance and a career-high 12 rebounds.
- The win along with a Sonoma State loss and a San Francisco State win put the Cougars back into a three-way tie for sixth in the CCAA standings with three games remaining.
