CSUSM Selected for First NCAA Division II West Regional Appearance

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Cal State San Marcos baseball team (27-19) will be making its first-ever NCAA Division II West Regional appearance as the Cougars were selected as the No. 5 seed by the NCAA Selection Committee on Sunday night.

CSUSM will head to top-seeded Point Loma (40-10-1) where it will also be joined by fourth-seeded Cal Poly Pomona (31-22) for the NCAA West Regional No. 1 taking place Thursday through Saturday at Carroll B. Land Stadium. The Cougars and Broncos will face each other first on Thursday at 11 a.m. before the loser of that game faces the host Sea Lions at 2 p.m. 

The winner of the regional pod will compete against the NCAA West Regional No. 2 winner consisting of second-seeded Cal State Monterey Bay, third-seeded Northwest Nazarene and sixth-seeded San Francisco State in the NCAA West Super Regional on May 24-25.

The Cougars are having their best-ever season in the NCAA Division II-era (2016-present), finishing second in CCAA play with a 26-13 record.
