HOW IT HAPPENED

  • With time winding down in the first half, Izzie Krysinski received a throw-in into the box from the right side. After dribbling out of the box and making a move around a Stanislaus defender, Krysinski put a long, sailing shot across the box, hitting the top of the keeper's hand before falling into the left side of the goal to put CSUSM up 1-0 in the 45th minute.
  • After 45 minutes, CSUSM had the lead while having the edge in shots (4-3) and shots on goal (3-1) while both teams had two corner kicks.
  • Just after the start of the second half, the Warriors knotted things up. From near the corner flag on the right side, Kaley Miller made a pass into the box. Her pass went off the foot of Aliah Avila before Jocelin Roa put a high shot into the top left side of the goal from behind the penalty kick marker to make it a 1-1 game in the 46th minute.
  • Moments later, Stanislaus struck again in the 48th minute. After the Warriors made a long pass down field, Miller won the foot race to the right side of the box before sending a pass to Avila, who put the ball into the right side of the goal from just in front of the keeper to give the Warriors a 2-1 lead.

QUICK KICKS

  • CSUSM ended the game with the advantage in shots (11-7), shots on goal (6-3), corner kicks (5-2) and possession (55%-45%).
  • The Cougars had the ball in Warrior territory on 62% of their possessions.
  • Krysinski's goal was the first of her collegiate career.
  • The Warriors' win was their sixth in a row.
  • After the day's action, CSUSM is now eighth in the CCAA standings with 11 points. It sits three points behind Cal State Monterey Bay, Cal State East Bay and Cal State San Bernardino for the final spot in the CCAA Tournament and two points behind seventh-place Cal Poly Humboldt with two games to go.
