Murr Named CSC Academic All-American

AUSTIN, Texas – Redshirt junior Madison Murr of the Cal State San Marcos women's golf team was named to the 2023-24 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-America Women's At-Large first team on Tuesday.
 
The 2023-24 CCAA Women's Golfer of the Year, Murr is coming off a fantastic season in which she was named a Women's Golf Coaches of America All-America first-team selection, a WGCA All-West Region honoree and an All-CCA first-team selection. During the season, Murr was named the CCAA Women's Golfer of the Week four times.
 
Murr, an environmental studies major, joined 15 other student-athletes on the first team with a 3.96 grade-point average. In total, 53 student-athletes were named to the Division II at-large teams.
 
Murr is the program's fourth CSC Academic All-America selection in program history and third first-team selection as Jaime Jacob was a three-time CSC Academic All-American (2017-20) while making the first team twice.
 
The Division II Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2023-24 Division II Academic All-America program.
 
Established in 1952 and selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), Academic All-America is the longest-running and premier award for athletic and academic success across championship college sports at all NCAA levels, the NAIA, two-year colleges and Canadian institutions. Since its inception in 1952, more than 40,000 student-athletes from numerous sports across all divisions have earned these elite Academic All-America scholar-athlete honors.
