Badrani Named San Diego Sports Association Star of the Month

SAN DIEGO – Junior Rasha Badrani of the Cal State San Marcos women's track & field team was named a Star of the Month for March 2025 by the San Diego Sports Association.
 
Badrani won the NCAA Division II National Championship in the 400-meter dash at the 2025 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships by tying her program record of 52.92 seconds. She became the first NCAA National Champion in program history and is the second overall CSUSM student-athlete to win one. Badrani was subsequently named the NCAA Division II West Region Indoor Track Athlete of the Year and a first-team All-American by the USTFCCCA.
 
She then began outdoor competition with two NCAA provisionals in the 400-meter dash and the 400-meter hurdles at the Mangrum Invitational and broke her own school record in the 400-meter dash at 54.67 seconds. Badrani was subsequently named the FloCollege/CCAA Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Badrani currently ranks third nationally in the 400-meter hurdles and sixth in the 400-meter dash.
