SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Madison Murr of women's golf and Fisher Pyatt of baseball have been named the Cal State San Marcos Student-Athletes of the Month for April 2025.

The CSUSM Student-Athlete of the Month awards are determined through a vote of all Department of Athletics coaches, administrators and staff. Each in-season program nominates a student-athlete to be considered for the award each month.
 
Murr won the CCAA Tournament with a 6-over 222 (76-74-72) and was named the CCAA Golfer of the Year for the second consecutive year while leading CSUSM to its sixth consecutive CCAA Tournament team win. Murr is ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division II and No. 1 in the West Region.
 
Pyatt led the team with 18 RBIs,  six home runs and 36 total bases while tying for the most doubles with four. He hit .333 with 14 hits, 10 runs and an .857 slugging percentage. Pyatt had a streak of three consecutive games with a home run against Chico State, including a grand slam. He recorded seven multi-RBI games and four multi-hit games for the month.

This is Murr's fourth Student-Athlete of the Month honor and is the first for Pyatt.
