IRVINE, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's track & field team saw an NCAA provisional, two school records and a total of six top-10 program marks at UC Irvine's Steve Scott Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
TOP PERFORMERS
- Rasha Badrani recorded an NCAA provisional time of 1:00.84 in the 400-meter hurdles, slimming down her season-best time by .29 seconds. She later ran a 200-meter time of 24.81.
- Rachelle Zilavec broke the program record for the javelin throw with a distance of 41.30 meters, breaking Kelly Skvarna's 2014 record of 40.15 meters. She finished second out of 17 entrants and was the top Division II thrower in the field.
- Carly Schuerger broke the school record in the one-mile invitational at 5:03.42 – 5.13 seconds faster than Ana Mercado's 2022 time of 5:08.55. Emma Mills, Maria Texis and Angela McManus posted the program's third-, fourth- and fifth-fastest times for the event at 5:10.61, 5:13.89 and 5:18.87, respectively.
- The 4x100-meter team of Badrani, Orchid Concha, Isabel Ortiz and Devin Yarbrough posted the sixth-fastest time in program history at 47.37.
- Ana Moreno clocked a time of 2:19.60 in the 800-meter invitational.
- Emily Mendoza ran 12:39.36 as the long Cougar in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
- Jordyn Brooks completed the long jump with a distance of 4.93 meters.
- Kyla Jones had CSUSM's top 400-meter time at 1:01.01.
- Trinity Barr completed the high jump with a mark of 1.61 meters.
- Lilly McGraw tied for first in the pole vault with a height of 3.76 meters.
- Devin Yarbrough had the Cougars' fastest 100-meter time of 12.05 seconds.
