CSUSM's Late Fourth-Quarter Push Falls Short at CSULA
LOS ANGELES – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team (7-16, 4-14 CCAA) fell 73-62 at Cal State LA (18-5, 15-3 CCAA) on Saturday afternoon at University Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cal State LA opened the game on an 8-0 run, sparked by a fast-break layup by Nevaeh Asiasi at 7:38 of the first quarter.
- CSUSM answered with 3-pointers from Sydney Hani at 6:27 and Kristan Yumul at 5:48 to cut the deficit to 10-8.
- The Golden Eagles maintained momentum and held a 19-16 lead after the first period.
- LA used a decisive 15-2 second‑quarter surge—highlighted by a Kyara Walter 3-pointer at 6:50—to extend its advantage to 32-18.
- CSUSM trailed 38-26 at halftime after shooting 41.7% (10-of-24), while LA shot 47.1% (16-of-34).
