Foster Picks Up FloCollege/CCAA Golfer of the Week Honors
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos women's golfer Avery Foster has garnered the FloCollege/CCAA Women's Golfer of the Week award this week.
Foster shot a 2-over 144 to tie for second at the NCAA DII Regional Preview Invite at the Pueblo Country Club in Pueblo, Colorado. Her 71-73 scorecard total was two strokes back of winner Madison Ude of Dallas Baptist.
The redshirt senior from Clovis had the second best single round score on Tuesday to move up the chart for the runner-up finish. Foster recorded six birdies during the tournament, twice on the par-5 No. 11 hole.
As a team, Cal State San Marcos was fourth at +47. Dallas Baptist won with a +16 584 total.
Foster is the third Cougar to win this award this fall season with Kiara Hernandez (Sept. 17) and Chloe Rahn (Sept. 31) as previous winners. This is Foster's fourth career CCAA Golfer of the Week award, her first as a Cougar. Click here to see a complete list of past weekly award winners.
CSUSM will travel to Hayward's Stonebrae Country Club for its next tournament, Oct. 27-28.
