Cougars Awarded United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for 11th Consecutive Season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team was announced as a 2024-25 College Team Academic Award recipient by the United Soccer Coaches.

Earning the honor for the 11th consecutive season, CSUSM tallied a 3.55 grade-point average for the academic year.

"For the 11th straight year, our student-athletes have deservedly been recognized as keeping academics a top priority," CSUSM Head Women's Soccer Coach Bobby Renneisen said. "I'm so incredibly proud of the courage and determination of our women to put their best foot forward in all they do each day."

The Team Academic Award was created to recognize student athletes' commitment to excellence in the classroom. To be eligible for the College Team Academic Award, the nominated program must be a current member of United Soccer Coaches College Services.

For a team to be considered for the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award, it must have a composite team grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) for all team members who appear on the official NCAA, NAIA, NCCAA or junior college roster forms for the fall season.

A total of 736 soccer teams (302 men, 434 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2024-25 academic year.
