AUSTIN, Texas – Cal State San Marcos women's golfer Madison Murr has been named the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators NCAA Division II Women's At-Large Academic All-American of the Year.
A senior from Los Alamitos, California, Murr graduated this past May with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies and a 3.96 GPA. She was the 2025 recipient of the Inkster Award presented by the Women's Golf Coaches Association, recognizing the highest-ranked women's collegiate golfer in her final year of NCAA eligibility.
Murr was crowned the 2025 NCAA Division II National Champion and had five victories on the season, including becoming CSUSM's fifth CCAA Women's Golf Champion in the six years of the tournament. The CCAA Golfer of the Year for the second consecutive year, Murr concluded her CSUSM career with 10 tournament wins and 21 top-3 finishes. She is a three-time WGCA Scholar-Athlete with two appearances on the first team.
This is Murr's second CSC Academic All-America first-team selection, while it's the program's fifth CSC Academic All-America selection in program history and fourth first-team selection. Jaime Jacob was a three-time CSC Academic All-American (2017-20) while making the first team twice.
The Division II Academic All-America program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II national governance structure to assist the College Sports Communicators with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Division II Academic All-America program.
Established in 1952 and selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC), Academic All-America is the longest-running and premier award for athletic and academic success across championship college sports at all NCAA levels, the NAIA, two-year colleges and Canadian institutions. Since its inception in 1952, more than 40,000 student-athletes from numerous sports across all divisions have earned these elite Academic All-America scholar-athlete honors.
