No. 15 CSUSM Splits Saturday's Twinbill at Humboldt
LOLETA, Calif. – The No. 15 Cal State San Marcos softball team (25-10, 11-9 CCAA) splits its doubleheader to Cal Poly Humboldt (22-15, 11-11 CCAA) on Saturday at Bear River Sports Complex. The Cougars took game one 7-2 before falling 4-2 in the series finale.

- The Lumberjacks took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a bases-loaded hit-by-pitch.
- The Cougars evened the game 1-1 in the top of the second on a Paige Donnelly RBI single through the left side.
- CSUSM added three runs in the top of the fifth on an RBI double by Gianna Lombardi, an RBI single by Mackenzie Kestler and a Humboldt error.
- The Cougars made it 7-1 in the sixth on an RBI double to center field by Olivia Rivera.
- Humboldt tacked on one more run in the seventh on a bases-loaded groundout by Shelby Shanks.

- The Jacks took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a Shelby Shanks RBI groundout and a Julia Rivera RBI single through the left side.
- CSUSM cut the lead in half in the third inning on a Paige Donnelly RBI single up the middle to make it 2-1 Humboldt.
- A Rivera 2-RBI double down the left line in the fifth inning extended Humboldt's lead to 4-1.
- The Cougars knocked in another run in the sixth on a Gianna Lombardi RBI single up the middle to make it 4-2.
