SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Rory Hetrick of women's basketball and Keavie Love have been named the Cal State San Marcos Student-Athletes of the Month for January 2025.
The CSUSM Student-Athlete of the Month awards are determined through a vote of all Department of Athletics coaches, administrators and staff. Each in-season program nominates a student-athlete to be considered for the award each month.
Hetrick led the Cougars with 13.8 points while averaging 6.3 rebounds, 1.78 assists and 1.55 steals per game. The senior from San Diego tallied two double-doubles against Cal State Monterey Bay and Stanislaus State and posted a season-high 19 points against Cal Poly Humboldt.
Love led CSUSM with 14.2 points, 2.9 assists, 2.0 steals per game and an 82.5 free throw percentage. Of his 128 points scored, 66 came from the charity stripe on 80 attempts. Love scored double figures in eight of nine games and posted a season-high 22 points at San Francisco State and Cal State LA.
This is the first CSUSM Student-Athlete of the Month honor for both Hetrick and Love.
