CSUSM Wins CCAA Tournament Opener Against CSUDH, 5-2
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos (33-19) softball team recorded a 5-2 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills in the Cougars' CCAA Tournament opening game on Thursday afternoon at CSUSM Softball Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Donnelly knocked out a 2-RBI double to center in the third inning to put CSUSM up 2-0.
- The Cougars doubled their lead in the fourth on RBI singles by Lombardi and Donnelly.
- In her first at-bat of the game, Kestler belted an RBI single through the right side to make it 5-0.
- With two outs in the top of the seventh, the Toros hit back-to-back bases-loaded singles before CSUSM starter Jayline Sloss recorded a strikeout to end the game.

- Sloss (16-8) tossed a complete game, allowing two runs on seven hits and five walks while fanning two batters.
- CSUDH's starter Ashley Wies (8-6) went 3.2 innings, giving up four runs (three earned) on four hits and three walks for the loss.
