SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos baseball team earned three All-CCAA selections as Nolan Long was named to the second team while Jack Clark and Fisher Pyatt were named honorable mentions by the conference office on Monday evening.
Long tallied the second-most saves in the CCAA during the regular season with seven and ranked 29th nationally. In 18 relief appearances and one start, the senior from Dublin tallied 37 strikeouts with a 3.62 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 32.3 innings while opponents hit just .223 against him. Long broke CSUSM's all-time strikeout record earlier this season and currently has 193 for his career. This is his first All-CCAA honor.
In his freshman season, Clark posted a team-low 2.05 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 16 relief appearances. The San Diego native tallied 15 strikeouts in 22.0 innings while holding opposing batters to a .203 average. Up until the last series of the season, Clark had not allowed an earned run in his first 14 collegiate games.
In his lone season at CSUSM, Pyatt posted a team-best 1.072 OPS, a .689 slugging percentage, nine home runs and nine multi-RBI games. The redshirt senior from San Diego hit .300 with 27 hits, 23 runs, eight doubles, 25 RBIs and a .383 on-base percentage. He concluded the season with a streak of six home runs in five consecutive games against Chico State and Cal State San Bernardino. This is his first All-CCAA honor.
The Cougars have now had at least three All-CCAA selections every year since 2022 and have 36 since their first year of CCAA competition in 2016.
CSUSM will return to the CCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season as the sixth-seeded Cougars face third-seeded San Francisco State in an elimination game on Wednesday at noon at Reeder Field on the campus of Cal State LA.
