Late Comeback Falls Short Against CSULA, 74-66
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team (0-13, 0-7 CCAA) dropped a 74-66 decision to Cal State LA (9-4, 4-4 CCAA) on Saturday afternoon at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 7-0 lead before CSUSM got on the board with a Hetrick made free throw at 7:24.
- The Cougars trailed 26-6 following the first quarter.
- A Leiva 3-pointer at 2:03 of the second quarter made it a single-digit deficit at 37-28.
- CSUSM outscored the Golden Eagles 27-12 in the second quarter as LA took a 38-33 lead into the halftime break.
- The Cougars shot 58.3% (7-of-12) in the second quarter to CSULA's 20.0% (3-of-15).
- The Cougars made it a one-point game (42-41) on a 3-pointer by Tatum Tamashiro at the 5:30 mark of the third quarter.
- CSULA responded with an 8-0 run to make it 50-41 at 3:08.
- The Golden Eagles held a 55-45 lead following the third quarter.
- The Cougars cut the gap to six points (69-63) on a Hetrick made free throw with 1:54 remaining in the game.
- CSULA answered with five unanswered points to put the game away in the final minute.
