CSUSM Claims First CCAA Win Over Humboldt, 64-56
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team (4-4, 1-2 CCAA) picked up its first conference win of the season with a 64-56 victory over Cal Poly Humboldt (3-6, 1-2 CCAA) on Friday night at The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- CSUSM opened the game on a 4-0 run before Humboldt answered with back-to-back threes to take an 8-4 lead.
- Down 13-10, the Cougars responded with an 11-0 run capped by a Micah Boone dunk to go up 21-13 midway through the first half.
- CSUSM took a 32-26 lead into the halftime break after shooting 50.0% (13-of-26) from the field compared to Humboldt's 36.0% (9-of-25).
- The Cougars extended their lead to 16 points at 54-38, their largest of the night, with 9:28 remaining following a Stratton layup and free throw.
- Humboldt cut the deficit to five at 60-55 with 2:39 left, but CSUSM sealed the win at the free-throw line, scoring the final four points.
