Murr Picks Up Seventh Career CCAA Golfer of the Week Honor
Cal State San Marcos's Madison Murr earned the CCAA Women's Golfer of the Week award after tied for second at the West Texas A&M Desert Invite in Tucson, Ariz.
Murr closed the 36-hole tournament at even par 144. She was just one stroke behind the individual medalist and was the only CCAA golfer to place top-10 at the tournament.
In the first round, Murr finished 1-over 73 and had four birdies. In the second round, she finished 1-under 71 with an additional four birdies. Overall, the junior from Los Alamitos, Calif., had eight birdies, eight bogeys, and 16 pars.
Cal State San Marcos placed eighth at the tournament. This was their eighth top-10 tournament finish this 2023-24 season.
Murr picked up her seventh top-10 finish out of eight tournaments played in 2023-24, earning individual medalist at four of them. This CCAA Golfer of the Week award marks the fourth for Murr this season and the seventh of her career.
CSUSM competes next in the CCAA Golf Championships April 22-24 at Santa Rosa Country Club in Santa Rosa.
