COURSE REPORT: The No. 17 Cal State San Marcos women's golf team leads the CCAA Women's Golf Championships with an eight-stroke lead after carding a 4-over 292 in the opening round. Regan Barton leads the field after being the only golfer to shoot under par in the opening round.
FIRST TEE
- Barton shot a 2-under 70 in the first round and has a three-stroke lead.
- After shooting a 2-over 38 on the front nine, MaKenna Cabardo rebounded with two birdies and a bogey on the back nine to finish with a 1-over 73. She is tied with CSUMB's Cathy Tong for second place.
- Lauren Hickam is tied for fourth after carding a 2-over 74 on Monday.
- Diana Delgado carded an even-par 36 on the front nine and finished day one with a 3-over 75 and is tied for seventh.
- Madison Murr struggled in the first round, carding a 5-over 77 and is tied for 14th place.
