Arredondo Selected CCAA Player of the Week
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos' Aneesa Arredondo has been named the CCAA Softball Player of the Week for the week of April 22-28.
Arredondo hit .643 in a four-game sweep of Chico State as CSUSM moved up to finish second in the conference standings and receive a first-round bye in the upcoming CCAA Softball Tournament. The junior from Yucaipa went 9-for-14 with a double, three RBIs, and four runs scored. She posted multiple hits in all four games, including going 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored in the series finale.
Arredondo is now second on the team with a .353 batting average and tied for the team lead with 14 multi-hit games. She has reached base in five consecutive games, bringing her on-base percentage to .420.
This is Arredondo's first career CCAA Softball Player of the Week award. She is the third Cougar to receive the honor during the 2024 campaign (Madison Waymire, Paige Donnelly).
CSUSM is the No. 2 seed and will host the 2024 CCAA Softball Tournament beginning on Wednesday, May 1. With its first-round bye, CSUSM will not play until Thursday, May 2 at 1 p.m. CCAA standings | CCAA Tournament Central
