SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The No. 18 Cal State San Marcos softball team (33-10, 19-9 CCAA) will conclude its 10-game homestand on Tuesday in a 12 p.m non-conference doubleheader against RV Concordia University Irvine (30-11, 20-8 PacWest) before resuming CCAA play at Cal State Dominguez Hill (27-20, 14-14 CCAA) this weekend. The doubleheaders in Carson will be at 1 p.m. on Friday followed by a 12 p.m. start time on Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Cougars collected their third CCAA series sweep of the season, taking four games from Cal State San Bernardino last weekend.
- Jayline Sloss recorded her third consecutive shutout (6-0) in the series opener on Friday before a the Cougars held on to a 5-4 victory in the nightcap.
- On Saturday, CSUSM snatched 6-2 and 5-1 wins over the Coyotes.

COUGARS BY THE NUMBERS
- With the NFCA Division II Coaches Poll being posted weekly on Tuesday, the Cougars remain at No. 18 in the nation. Also appearing from the West Region are No. 11 Western Washington, No. 13 Cal State East Bay and No. 21 San Francisco State. Concordia University Irvine dropped out last week and is now receiving votes.

MIDWEEK AGAINST CUI
- The Golden Eagles have won four of their last 10 games, dropping a four-game series to Jessup before splitting a series 2-2 with Dominican and a doubleheader with Azusa Pacific.
- Against APU, CUI dropped game one 12-5 before bouncing back with a 4-1 win.

COUGARS VS. THE TOROS
- Cal State Dominguez Hills is coming off a series loss at Sonoma State this past weekend – snapping a three-series win streak with a sweep over Stanislaus State and 3-1 wins over Cal Poly Humboldt and San Francisco State.
- The Toros won game one of the series 3-2 before falling 7-2, 3-1 and 2-1 to the Seawolves.
- CSUDH has been climbing up the standings and is currently in fifth place, one game ahead of sixth-place Cal Poly Humboldt and one game behind fourth-place Sonoma State.

THE ROBINSON FILE
- Head Coach A.J. Robinson was promoted to the top spot on July 31, 2024.
- As the program's assistant coach from 2022-24, Robinson helped guide CSUSM to three NCAA Division II West Regional appearances, an NCAA National Championship appearance, a West Regional Championship, a CCAA Regular-Season Championship and a CCAA Tournament Championship.
- For the 2021 season, Robinson was a volunteer assistant coach at San Diego State and helped the Aztecs to an overall record of 28-16.
- Robinson's first stint at CSUSM was as a volunteer assistant coach from 2018-20 where he was named CSUSM Athletics' Volunteer Assistant Coach of the Year in 2020.
- Robinson was the founder and president of The Factory Softball Club in San Diego until 2024. In 2018 and 2019, he and his coaching staff earned West Region Travel Ball Coaching Staff of the Year honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
