Waymire, Donnelly Named to D2 CCA All-West Region Team
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Paige Donnelly and Madison Waymire of the Cal State San Marcos softball team were named to the 2025 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) All-West Region Softball teams on Monday. Waymire was selected to the first team while Donnelly picked up second-team honors.
Waymire is tied for third in the West Region with 54 runs this season. The redshirt senior from Rancho Cucamonga is hitting .362 with a 1.024 OPS, 68 hits, 32 RBIs, 32 walks, nine home runs, a triple, eight doubles, nine stolen bases, a .559 slugging percentage and a .465 on-base percentage in 63 games. In the final regular-season game on Saturday, April 26, Waymire broke CSUSM's streak of reaching base safely in the NCAA Division II era (2015-present) at 24 games. She ranks second on the team with 20 multi-hit and nine multi-RBI games. Waymire will graduate ranked No. 3 in the CSUSM career record books in runs (161) and second in walks (94).
Donnelly is tied for sixth in the West Region with 15 doubles this season. She boasts a team-high batting average (.388) and slugging percentage (.572). Donnelly has a 1.030 OPS, 78 hits, 48 RBIs, 30 walks, six home runs, two triples, 15 doubles, one stolen base, a .572 slugging percentage and a .458 on-base percentage in 63 games.The Poway native recorded a team-best 13 multi-RBI and 25 multi-hit games. Donnelly has earned D2 CCA All-West Region honors in all four of her seasons at CSUSM, twice on the first team and twice on the second team.
The D2 CCA All-Region teams are nominated and selected by members of the region's athletics communications staffs. The 14 members of the All-West Region first team will now be placed on the national ballot for All-America consideration. The All-America teams will be released on Thursday, May 22.
The D2 CCA encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of high education. The D2 CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact NCAA Division II athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
