COURSE REPORT:  The No. 6 Cal State San Marcos women's golf team leads the field at the West Texas Desert Invitational after carding a 25-over 313 in Monday's round in Tucson, Arizona, on the Ventana Canyon Golf Course. Kiara Hernandez is on top of the leaderboard with a 1-over 73.

FIRST TEE

• Hernandez tallied four birdies, one bogey and two double bogeys in the first round and has a two-stroke lead.
• Diana Delgado and Makenna Cabardo are in an 11-way tie for 12th place with a 7-over 79.
• Regan Barton carded a 10-over 82 and is tied for 38th place.
• Chloe Rahn rounded out CSUSM five with a 16-over 88 and tied for 76th place.
