Five Cougars Named to All-CCAA Team as Murr Named POTY, Hernandez Selected NOY, Hutton Named COTY
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's golf team has once again dominated the All-CCAA team. Madison Murr collected her second consecutive CCAA Golfer of the Year honor and head Coach Greg Hutton received his seventh consecutive CCAA Women's Golf Coach of the Year honor.
Joining Murr on the 10-person All-CCAA first team was the 2025 CCAA Tournament Champion Regan Barton, Makenna Cabardo, Diana Delgado and Kiara Hernandez.
Murr, who is ranked No. 2 in NCAA Division II according to Scoreboard powered by clippd, has a team-best 70.6 stroke average. The Los Alamitos native won four tournaments this season, beginning the postseason with a CCAA individual medalist title. Murr accumulated four CCAA Golf of the Week honors this season to raise her career total to 11, the second most in conference program history behind 2019 NCAA Division II Champion Jaime Jacob (13). This marks Murr's fourth consecutive time earning all-conference first team honors.
Barton's shared win of the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational was her second collegiate victory after being crowned the CCAA individual medalist last season. She had five top-15 finishes this season. Barton has a 74.7 scoring average entering the NCAA West Regional. This is Barton's second consecutive postseason CCAA honor.
Cabardo posted three top-10 finishes this season, including a CCAA Tournament runner-up finish for the second time of her career. She will enter next week's regional with a 74.5 scoring average. This is her third first-team honor and her fourth overall postseason conference honor (honorable mention in 2023).
Delgado earned four top-10 finishes this season including a share of CSUSM Fujikura Invitational win with teammate Regan Barton. She has accumulated a 75.0 scoring average so far this season. This is her third time being named to the All-CCAA first team.
As the newest Cougar to the team, Kiara Hernandez made an immediate impact with four top-10 finishes this spring. She tied for third at the CCAA Women's Golf Championships. The Burbank native has a 73.2 scoring average. Hernandez was previously a member of the Point Loma women's golf team where she was a named to the All-PacWest first team in 2023-24.
Hutton became CSUSM's first eight-time CCAA Coach of the Year honoree in school history, seven times as the women's coach and one time as the men's coach. The Cougars defended their league crown for the sixth time by carding a 44-over 908 April 21-23 at Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara.
In the six years of the CCAA sponsoring women's golf, a CSUSM golfer has been named Golfer of the Year each time with Jaime Jacob taking the first three seasons, Breanne Horn earning two seasons, Barton last season and Murr capturing this season. The Cougars won five tournaments this season, including the 2024 CCAA Women's Golf Championship for a sixth time.

This is the sixth consecutive season that CSUSM has placed at least three players on the All-CCAA first team.
The Cougars, who earned the automatic West Regional bid, will enter the regional tournament as No. 2 next week when they compete La Paloma Golf Course in Amarillo, Texas on May 5-7.
