COURSE REPORT: The Cal State San Marcos women's cross country team took 18th place with 485 points at the NCAA Division II Pre-National Saturday morning in University Place, Washington. The field consisted of 29 teams with five ranked in the top 30 nationally. No. 3 Colorado School of Mines controlled the field with five runners finishing in the top 15 while Alaska Fairbanks' Naomi Bailey was crowned the individual winner. 

FINISH LINE

• Emma Mills was CSUSM's top runner for the first time this season, taking 102nd place with a time of 23:21.5. 
• Luz Mercado was the next Cougar to cross the line with a time of 23:24.1 for 105th place. 
• Grace Handler (23:25.3) and Renee Laurenzana (23:26.3) collected 109th and 110th place, respectively.  
• Jessica Schempp was the fifth Cougar to finish with a time of 23:44.0 for 123rd place.

The Cougars will next compete in the CCAA Championships on Nov. 5 hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay at Palo Corona Cross Country trail.
