CSUSM Falls 67-56 at East Bay
HAYWARD, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team (0-10, 0-4 CCAA) fell 67-56 at Cal State East Bay (4-8, 2-3 CCAA) on Thursday night at Pioneer Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A Hetrick layup at 7:46 was the first bucket of the game in the opening quarter.
- The Cougars held a 14-13 lead following the first quarter.
- The Pioneers put together an 8-0 run to go up 26-18 before CSUSM went on its own run to cut the gap to 26-25 after a Maddie Levia 3-pointer in the second quarter.
- With six seconds remaining, a Joia Armstrong layup gave East Bay a 28-25 lead to take into the halftime break.
- The Pioneers made 3-of-6 from behind the 3-point line in the first half to CSUSM's 2-of-14 performance.
- Both teams registered 20 rebounds in the first 20 minutes.
- CSUSM went up 35-30 on a layup by Kate Bobadilla following an East Bay shot clock violation at the 7:52 mark of the third quarter.
- The Pioneers responded with a 13-2 run to go up 48-37 with 1:36 remaining in the third quarter.
- East Bay kept a double-digit cushion the entire fourth quarter to clinch the win.

- CSUSM tallied 16 offensive boards to East Bay's seven, yet the Pioneers outrebounded the Cougars 40-36.
- While competing against CCAA opponents, the Cougars tallied a season-low 14 turnovers while the Pioneers notched 21.

- The Pioneers shot 45.1% (23-of-51) from the field to CSUSM's 32.8% (21-of-64).
