SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team (4-7-6, 0-7-3 CCAA) will conclude its 2024 season against Cal State East Bay (5-7-4, 4-4-3 CCAA) on Thursday at 2 p.m. in The Cage.
 
LAST WEEK

• CSUSM began the weekend by falling 1-0 to Stanislaus State on Friday after the Warriors scored an 88th-minute goal.
• The Cougars then snapped their four-game losing streak with a 1-1 draw against then-No. 21 Chico State on Sunday.

 
COUGARS BY THE NUMBERS

• Ryan Meinardus leads the CCAA in shots (3.76) and shots on goal per game (1.65) while ranking 14th and 27th nationally in both categories, respectively.
• Meinardus ranks fifth in the CCAA for points with 18.
• With eight goals for the season, Meinardus has the sixth-most single-season goals at CSUSM while his 17 points for the year rank seventh.
• All-time at CSUSM, Meinardus ranks fifth with 15 career goals and 25 career points.
• Tony Flores is making the third-most saves per game in the league at 3.82.
• CSUSM as a team is tallying the third-most saves per game at 4.00.
• The Cougars are committing the fourth-fewest fouls per game in the conference at 9.82.

2024 FINALE AGAINST THE PIONEERS

• The Pioneers enter the regular-season finale sixth in the CCAA standings with 15 points.
• Last weekend, CSUEB posted a 1-1 draw against then-No. 21 Chico State on Friday before earning a 1-0 win against Stanislaus State on Sunday.
• Alan Gutierrez and Bennett Richards are tied for the team lead in goals (3) and points (7).
• The Pioneers have the third-worst scoring offense in the CCAA at 0.88 goals per game while ranking eighth in the conference for goals-against average at 1.20.
• East Bay keeper Adan Corona ranks fifth in the conference with 1.182 goals allowed per game.
• CSUSM owns the all-time series lead against CSUEB at 4-3-3 and is 2-2 when playing at home.
• The Cougars and Pioneers earned a pair of draws in the last two meetings.

• This season marks the 19th season for head coach Ron Pulvers at CSUSM.
• Pulvers has a 138-129-40 (.515) record as CSUSM's head men's coach.
• In 26 seasons as a collegiate head men's soccer coach, Pulvers holds a 264-200-54 (.562) career record.
• He was 84-42-24 (.640) while in charge of the CSUSM women's program.
• From 2006-13, Pulvers led both the CSUSM men's and women's soccer teams.
