Booker Announces 2024-25 CSUSM Men's Basketball Schedule

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Entering his second season at the helm of the Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team, Head Coach Nick Booker announced the Cougars' 2024-25 schedule on Tuesday afternoon.

"As we gear up for the 2024-25 season, I am thrilled to announce our schedule and roster for CSUSM men's basketball," Booker said. "This year promises to be both challenging and exciting as we face formidable opponents right out of the gate."

The Cougars will face a tough test right from the start as they play two NCAA Division I opponents in exhibitions at UC Riverside on Oct. 25 and San Diego State on Oct. 30.

CSUSM will officially begin its season by hosting Biola on Nov. 8 before heading to Concordia University Irvine on Nov. 9. The following week, the Cougars will head to Azusa Pacific to face Western Washington on Nov. 15 and Seattle Pacific on Nov. 16. CSUSM will wrap up its non-conference schedule with a visit to Point Loma on Nov. 19 before welcoming Azusa Pacific to The Sports Center on Nov. 26.

"This 'nowhere to hide' non-conference schedule will undoubtedly test our squad and prepare us for the challenges ahead," Booker said.

The Cougars will begin CCAA play on the road at Sonoma State on Nov. 30 before wrapping up the calendar year with home contests against Cal Poly Pomona (Dec. 5), Cal State San Bernardino (Dec. 7) and Sonoma State (Dec. 21).

CSUSM's first games of 2025 will see them on the road at Cal State East Bay (Jan. 2) and San Francisco State (Jan. 4) before a four-game homestand ensues against Cal State Dominguez Hills (Jan. 9), Cal State LA (Jan. 11), Chico State (Jan. 16) and Cal Poly Humboldt (Jan. 18). The Cougars will then go on a four-game road trip to end January and begin February at Cal State Monterey Bay (Jan. 23), Stanislaus State (Jan. 25), Cal State LA (Jan. 30) and Cal State Dominguez Hills (Feb. 1).

The Cougars will return to The Sports Center to face San Francisco State (Feb. 6) and Cal State East Bay (Feb. 8) before once again going on the road to face Cal State San Bernardino (Feb. 13) and Cal Poly Pomona (Feb. 15). CSUSM will play its final regular-season home games against Stanislaus State (Feb. 20) and Cal State Monterey Bay (Feb. 22) before concluding the regular season at Cal Poly Humboldt (Feb. 27) and Chico State (March 1).

CSUSM will look to be one of the top six teams in the conference standings at the end of the regular season as it hosts the 2025 CCAA Men's Basketball Tournament on March 6-8 at The Sports Center.

"On the roster front, we return three key players from last season, including standout performer Max Tengan," Booker said. "We're also welcoming 13 newcomers, with six true freshmen ready to make their mark. I'm incredibly pleased with the talent we've assembled in San Marcos and am eager to see how these young men rise to the occasion in some very competitive environments. With a mix of returning experience and fresh talent, I am confident that this season will be one to remember."

2023-24 season ticket holders have until Oct. 31 to renew their seats for the upcoming season. New season tickets will go on sale on Nov. 1 while single-game tickets will be available on Nov. 8. For purchases and any questions, contact Armando Lara (arlara@csusm.edu).
