CSUSM Secures Series Win Against SSU with 10-1 Victory
ROHNERT PARK, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos baseball team (16-15, 11-11 CCAA) secured the series win against Sonoma State (9-27, 6-22 CCAA) with a 10-1 win in the series finale on Sunday at Seawolf Diamond.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A Sonoma fielding error allowed Garrett Teunissen to score and give CSUSM a 1-0 lead in the first.
- The Cougars built a 5-0 lead in the fourth with an RBI single by Cameron Mahaffy, a two-run single by Jake Callahan and an RBI sacrifice bunt by Phoenix Sommay.
- A solo homer by Hayden Tregidga put CSUSM up 6-0 in the fifth.
- An RBI double down the right field line by Sommay put the Cougars ahead 7-0 in the sixth.
- A three-run homer by Victor Castaneda gave CSUSM a 10-0 lead in the ninth.
- SSU broke up the shutout in the bottom of the ninth with an RBI double from Mason Hanshaw to make it a 10-1 game.

- Cougar starter Trevor Eby (3-1) earned the win after striking out five and allowing just two hits and a hit-by-pitch in 5.0 innings.
- Seawolf starter Noah Souza (0-3) took the loss after allowing six runs (five earned) on six hits, two walks and a hit-by-pitch while striking out six in 5.0 innings.
