GREENSBORO, N.C. – Three members of the Cal State San Marcos baseball team were named to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-West Region team as Luke Reece and Garrett Teunissen took first-team honors while Preston Kelly was named to the second team on Wednesday.

Altogether, 18 CCAA student-athletes were honored. Along with the CCAA, the West Region ia comprised of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) and the PacWest Conference. The PacWest had 10 selections and the GNAC had six.

This is the first time CSUSM has had more than one honoree on the ABCA/Rawlings All-West Region team. The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association, and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Division II All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.

The ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division II All-America teams will be announced on Friday, May 31. Only All-Region first-team selections are eligible for All-America honors.

The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams for all divisions will be announced on Wednesday, June 19. The ABCA NCAA Division II Region All-Defensive teams will be announced on Thursday, June 20.

The ABCA All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and now includes nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, Pacific Association Division, and high school. ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first recognized in 2007.
