Cougars Tally Four Top-10 Program Marks in Two-Meet Weekend

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's track & field team recorded four top-10 program marks this weekend at the Oxy Distance Carnival & Spring Break Classic and the Beach Opener.
 
TOP PERFORMANCES AT OXY

  • Autumn Shomaker posted the fifth-best long jump mark in program history at 5.55 meters, finishing first out of 20 entrants. Jordyn Brooks was third at 5.41 meters.
  • Andrea Alvarado had the fifth-best triple jump mark in team history at 11.23 meters and finished third out of 20 entrants.
  • Kelsi Hart's 10,000-meter time of 35:49.82 was the fifth-fastest in program history as she finished third out of 18 entrants. Angela McManus was fourth at 36:43.33.
  • Out of 16 entrants, Samone Cable won the high jump at 1.62 meters. Isabella Sanchez tied for the 10th-best mark in program history at 1.52 meters.
  • Shaylee Mutka's time of 14.78 seconds won the 100-meter hurdles in a field of 14.
  • The team of Kailey Frye, Shomaker, Brooks and Aliyah Ratcliffe finished second in the 4x100-meter relay at 49.72.

 
TOP PERFORMANCES AT BEACH OPENER

  • Rachelle Zilavec finished fifth out of 17 entrants in the javelin throw at 39.77 meters.
  • Adriana Hewitt finished ninth out of 27 entrants at 58.75 seconds.

 
UP NEXT
The Cougars will return to outdoor action at the Aztec Invitational on March 21-22 while Rasha Badrani will wrap up the indoor season at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships on March 13-15 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
