Led by second-year Head Coach A.J. Robinson, the Cal State San Marcos softball coaches were voted the 2026 ATEC/NFCA Division II West Region Coaching Staff of the Year, as selected by the region's coaches. The honor marks the second time in the last four years that CSUSM's staff was named the West's top staff.

Capping off the best finish in program history with a trip to the semifinals of the NCAA Division II National Championship, the Cal State San Marcos softball team (57-12) fell just short against McKendree (51-15) in a tightly contested 4-3 decision on Saturday at Frost Stadium. After jumping out to an early two-run lead in the opening inning, the Cougars battled throughout but were unable to overcome a decisive four-run second inning by the Bearcats.

The Cal State San Marcos softball team (57-11) delivered head coach A.J. Robinson his 100th-career win as a head coach with a 7-1 triumph over North Georgia (52-11) during an NCAA Division II National Championship elimination game Saturday night/Sunday morning at Frost Stadium.

The No. 4-seeded Cal State San Marcos softball team (56-11) battled back from an early deficit but ultimately dropped a 5-3 eight-inning decision to top-seeded Saint Leo (51-3-1) on Friday afternoon at Frost Stadium.
