COURSE REPORT:  Redshirt sophomore Madison Murr captured runner-up honors to lead the No. 11/11 Cal State San Marcos women's golf team to a share of 11th place in Cal State Bakersfield's The Valley Invitational that featured a field of all NCAA Division I programs.

FIRST TEE

• Madison Murr shot a tournament-low 69 in the final round to finish with a 4-over 220 (75-76-69) to earn a share of second place with Santa Clara's Claire Choi and Abigail Leighton of UC Davis.
• Breann Horn carded a 22-over 238 (81-79-78) to tie for 50th place.
• Caroline Wales matched her opening round 78 to move up to a share of 56th place with a three-round total of 24-over 240 (78-84-78).
• Makenna Cabardo moved up three spots to tie for 64th place with a 28-over 244 (84-80-80).
• Playing as an individual, Regan Barton finished tied for 71st with a 32-over 248 (88-82-78).
• Kaila Higgins placed 74th with a 36-over 252 (86-84-82).

"Maddy played great this week. This was a tough golf course, and she started to figure out how to play it early in her first round. Once that happened, it allowed her to play free which definitely showed by the end of the tournament. She is a great player and will only get better. I am really proud of her."
