CSUSM Earns Second Consecutive AVCA Team Academic Award
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team was named a recipient of the AVCA Team Academic Award for the second consecutive year, announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
The Cougars take home the award after finishing the 2024-25 academic year with a combined team GPA of 3.561.
"Back-to-back academic honors aren't just accolades, they're proof that this team leads with intellect, dedication and the relentless pursuit of excellence," said CSUSM Head Coach Andrea Leonard. "I am incredibly proud of our team's discipline and ambition to achieve this goal once again!"
About the American Volleyball Coaches Association
The association's mission is to advance the sport of volleyball with AVCA coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development. The membership includes more than 10,000 collegiate, professional, high school, club, and youth volleyball coaches—primarily in the United States. The AVCA represents women's volleyball, men's volleyball, and beach volleyball coaches, and works to increase exposure and recognition for the sport of volleyball.
