Cougars Drop 1-0 Decision to Wildcats
CHICO, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos men's soccer (2-4-3, 1-1-0 CCAA) dropped a 1-0 decision to Chico State (3-3-2, 1-0-1 CCAA) on Sunday at University Soccer Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Wildcats scored the match's lone goal in the 21st minute. Off a quick corner kick from the right side, a cross into the box from Jack Shane found the head of Dane Peterson, whose shot bounced at the six-yard box before finding the left corner of the goal to make it a 1-0 game.
- Both teams ended the first half with eight shots each, with Chico putting five of them on goal. CSUSM had a 4-2 advantage on corner kicks.
- The Cougars edged out the Wildcats in the second-half shot totals at 7-5 while putting four of them on goal, but Chico keeper Weston Joyner was able to make saves on all of them.

- CSUSM ended the game with the shot lead at 15-13, but Chico put more shots on goal at 7-4.
- CSUSM finished with a season-high nine corner kicks to Chico's five.
